Beautiful Deck with Roof and Glass Railings
I live on the west coast and my rooftop deck was leaking - badly. It had a poorly designed (and ugly) torch-on roof with wooden pallets for a deck surface.
We were renovating in our basement and had removed a large quantity of cedar tongue and groove siding.
I re-used the cedar siding, turning it into my deck surface, and then covered it with epoxy fiberglass (the same stuff used to build cedar strip canoes) to form a highly durable and completely waterproof surface.
Then added a cedar and glass railing, with fantastic Titan Post Anchors, of course!
The whole project was highly labour intensive (and I bonded far too closely with my belt sander), but I think the result is a fantastic deck.
With the addition of an aluminum and glass roof and we've got a fantastic location to enjoy the mild but wet west-coast weather.
