Gazebos To Compliment A Deck

Your editor of Ideas-For-Deck-Designs.com

Gazebos can be a great addition to a deck or patio. Especially if there is a walkway connecting the two. Some clients asked me to build a cedar gazebo after I designed a multi-level cedar deck.

The deck and gazebo really worked well together. In this particular area, the summers are hot and now you had two options. You could sit out in the sun for a while - until you had enough.

Traditional large style gazeboOr you could go straight to the gazebo, sit down in a nice chair with a glass of lemonade and enjoy the day without burning to a crisp.

The gazebo in the above picture is a classic design but much too large for the average backyard. The one I designed fit nicely into a typical backyard. You can learn more about the deck that went with it here.

Design Tips For Your Gazebo

You really have to consider the size of the structure and balance it with your backyard.

Also, I am not going to go into all the building details for this gazebo because it is an advanced building project and not something for a first time builder.

Traditional or contemporary? That is your call but take a look at this gazebo style. It really takes the whole idea to the next level.

Contemporary style gazeboWhat I like about this concept is the blend of old and new. Functionally this does everything a gazebo should do.

Protection from sun and rain and links the deck and the house in a common theme.

For the deck that I built, we followed a similar concept as above but in a traditional sense and on a much smaller scale.

Cedar gazebo This gazebo was situated just off the corner of a much larger deck and didn't over power the rest of the backyard. And if you take a look at the site layout, you can see how the two were designed to flow and compliment each other.

Where Can You Get Gazebos and Accessories?
